180 m2 | Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Amsterdam Vondelpark
This renovation breathes new life into a 180m² historic Amsterdam townhouse, transforming a once dark and fragmented interior into a bright and serene family home.
Before the renovation, the house featured bold wall colours, heavy contrasts, and a fragmented layout. Heavy drapery made the spaces feel closed-in and visually cluttered, while each room felt isolated from the next.
Our approach focused on restoring flow, calm, and clarity. We stripped back visual noise and embraced a light, natural palette that allows the generous ceiling heights, original moldings, and warm wooden floors to shine. New sightlines were opened up to create a sense of continuity between rooms, while tailored joinery support a clean, uncluttered feel.
Soft textiles, natural stone, and warm wood tones were introduced to create tactile richness without overwhelming the architecture. The result is a home that feels airy yet grounded, where every room speaks the same quiet, refined language.
